This one was a challenge for me, but of course just like all the other themes allowed me to examine my own Inner Fire. I think I put a lot of pressure on myself to be able to come up with a magnificent roaring example of a healthy inner fire, but the truth of the matter is that I didn’t really know what that looked or felt like, because my own fire was nothing but a mere flickering candle on a good day. So after a very long time of fighting with that idea I decided to lean into it with love and asked myself what that would look like. Instead of looking at it from a place of shame and criticism. What if I valued my inner fire regardless of its strength size brightness and warmth? Then the idea of carefully cupping a little tealight candle in my hands came to mind and I went with it. With the candle being the only source of light I was able to use that to show the intense darkness that can surround, and that despite it being a very timid source of light it was a source of light nonetheless. I believe despite the difficulties of coming up with the art for this piece it ended up embodying the concept really strongly and I am very happy with it. The choice to go with a new medium that I have never really used before was my way of acknowledging my inner fire, by choosing to step into the darkness regardless.
